What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Hands After Using Methamphetamine?
4 months ago I started using very small amounts of meth in the mornings and at lunch to be able to work long hours and for energy. Nearly 2 months ago I started working for a paint company and 5 weeks ago I had a episode where my hands and feet swoll up for 8 days and were very painful and then it vanished only to come back 4 days later. Bottoms of my feet are the first to swell and my hands get rusty red and itch. Both hands and feet turn bluish purple during these episodes. I don t know if I m having a allergic reaction to acrylics or the small amount of meth is killing me. Went back to work Tuesday and within 10 minutes of touching acrylic stain with my hands my feet were swollen and I couldn t walk. 5 hours later me hands were red on palms and itchy. Feet were swollen to the max.
Your symptoms are suggestive of an allergic reaction to the paint.Use gloves and protective boots and clothing to avoid coming in contact with the paint. You can also take cetirizine 10 mg once daily if you develop allergy symptoms. However, I would like to add that using methamphetamines can cause harmful effect on your health like hypertension, mental and emotional problems, addiction, cardiac problems etc. Please be advised to stop using meth and seek help if needed.
Hope I was able to help you Regards Dr.Lekshmi
