Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The inside edge of both my top and bottom lip is sensitive and a bit puffy. Almost like chapped lips but on the inside. I noticed it 24 hours ago. I have been drinking lots of water, thinking I was dehydrated. Doesn t seem to be getting better or worse.
I can understand your concern. If your lips are swollen due to allergic reaction or infection, you can get indentations on the inside of the lips by continuous pressure of teeth against it.
I would advise you to start antibiotics and antihistamine so that both allergic reaction and infection can get covered. You can take Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for five days. In addition, you should take Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for five days.
However, if the swelling is not reduced after 5 days, I recommend you to visit a dentist for the clinical examination of the lips and further investigations and treatment.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
