Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swelling and pain under the tongue with history of gingivitis which could because of salivary gland swelling. There are chances that tooth infection in localized are spreads to surrounding area by space infection and giving swell type feel. I would suggest you to visit oral physician once and get it examined. Maintain oral hygiene. I would suggest you to apply honey or turmeric paste at night and start taking vitamin B12 supplement. You should take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin for relief. Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for reducing pain and inflammation as well as swelling.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
