What Causes Swelling And Painful Lump On Ankle Caused After Injury?

Hit inner ankle with softball twice in same spot. treatment? a month ago I was practicing, and got hit pretty hard on my ankle it bruised instantly and became puffy. next week I was warming up for a game and happened to get hit with another softball in the exact same spot. I expirenced mild to harsh pain while hitting, pitching, running, walking, and squatting. Fast forward to today my ankle I still puffy and has a lump in the spot I got hit in. The lump hurts when pressure is applied, what treatment is recommended? Thanks!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain it seems that due to recurring injury at the same spot there is wear and tear of the soft tissues as well as trauma to the blood vessels leading to inflammation of the tissues leading to swelling and pain..
Lump formation is due to Hematoma formation and encapsulation with soft tissue fibres and inflammatory cells..
You should do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump..
You can apply analgesic gel containing Diclofenac..
Take Ibuprofen to relieve pain and inflammation..
Apply Heparin gel for faster clot disruption..
Elevate your leg while lying down
