What Causes Swelling And Rashes On Vagina And Thighs While On Treatment For UTI?
I went to the doctor on Thursday and they diagnosed me with a UTI and prescribe me Nitrofurantoin....I had some left over from last year so I was already taking it before they gave me more the medicine seems to not be working and my vaginal area is swollen and I have a rash on my inner thighs and is very tender and Raw...itchy too....I had an exam done all it showed was a uti....I was told no cream etc...I can barely close my legs...what is it
Very likely you are having a yeast infection. You can take local cream such as miconazole cream to apply twice a day on the skin that is red and itchy for 7-10 days and in the vagina you can use clotrimazol ovules one at night for 3 nights.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
