What Causes Swelling And Red Rashes Around Vagina In A Baby Girl?
My 3 year old daughter is always red around her pee pee. Some days are better than others, but it never goes away. We ve been to the doctor repeatedly with no answers. Tried every kind of diaper rash cream and anti-fungals. He pubic symphysis area is now rashy and swollen.
Swelling & red rashes in the private parts of a baby may be due to infection, take care of her hygiene and do not use diaper for a couple of days. Use thin, soft cotton cloth as a diaper. Do continue to apply the anti-fungal ointment in the area affected. You can also apply Neosporin powder ans cream. However, you are suggested to get her clinically examined by a Pediatrician. It can be UTI. Get her Urinalysis done and treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
