What Causes Swelling And Redness Around The Penetrating Wound ?

Yesterday, I was doing yard work and got a penetration wound to my lower leg. It was a grass plant with hard, stick like shafts. Today, the area is red and swollen and is very sensitive. Can I wait to see my Doctor tomorrow or should I go to the Emergency room? Thanks

Hi...
Thanks for your query..
Symptoms suggestive of inflammation of wound. You have not mentioned how deep is the wound and size of the wound. I advise you to consult doctor if the wound is big and deep. For pain and redness i suggest you take acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Thank you
