I am having problems with left leg and foot swelling. my foot tuarns dark red. also my creatines are low. I try to drink more water. my blood pressure is high now, especially when I get up each morning. I take 2 blood pressure pills each day. The blood vessels are narrow that leaves the kidneys. Would a stent help with my problems?

Hello,

There are several possible causes of the swelling in the leg. You will need a dopler ultrasound of the leg to rule out deep vein thrombosis, which would also be a medical emergency and needs prompt treatment with blood thinners.

Cellulitis is another potential cause and can be ruled out with a simple visit by your doctor and if the ultrasound is normal. In this case, antibiotics are needed.

The heart and kidney problems generally cause swelling in both legs and not only on one.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
