What Causes Swelling And Skin Discoloration Under The Tongue?

I have a white swollen sore dot on my salivary duct under my tongue. I originally thought it was a canker sore but it isn t an open wound or burning like I ve had with past canker sores. I also don t think it is a stone because I ve felt it and it seems like just discolored skin. I can also see my duct still squirting out saliva so I don t believe it s blocked. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there sounds to be inflammation of sublingual salivary gland most likely. There can be associated infection with anaerobic bacteria as peptostreptococci, bacteroides or else. If you can provide me a photo pic of the swelling, kindly send it during next follow up discussion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
