What Causes Swelling And Small Bumps Around The Lips?

I HAVE AREAS OF MY LIPS THAT SWELL OCCASIONALLY AND A LOT OF MINUTE BUMPS MAINLY ON MY LOWER LIP. SOMETIMES THE SWELLING GOES TO THE SIDE OF MY FACE -CHEEK AREA- AND IS A LITTLE NUMB. IT GOES AWAY IN A COUPLE OF DAYS BUT IS COMING BACK MORE OFTEN. DOESNT HURT AND I CAN NOT FEEL THEM WITH MY FINGER BUT I CAN WHEN I RUN MY TONGUE ACROSS THEM. JIM

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
I think it appears that you could be having problems with your lips due to water-soluble vitamin deficiency, particularly riboflavin and vitamin C.
Kindly take multi-vitamin supplements, which contain more quantities of Riboflavin and Vitamin C in the form of capsules regularly.
Also, supplement foods which are rich in these vitamins.
Gradually, you should be able to overcome the symptoms.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
