What Causes Swelling And Soreness In Foot With History Of UTI?

My left foot has been sore & swollen a little longer than a week. There is a very sore spot on the side, in front of my ankle. The swelling goes down somewhat and it feels a little better when I wear compression socks. Every symptom checker I ve used online gives me terrible results! I really don t have any other symptoms. I have also had a UTI that I ve been trying to treat naturally with essential oils & vitamins, which seems to be going away. Could these 2 have anything to do with each other? What could be wrong with my foot? I keep thinking blood clot and it scares me. I am 37 yrs old n good health. I dont drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, but I do recreational drugs sometimes.

I share your concerns about your illness. Let me make it clear that UTI and your problem with leg is not related. In my opinion your symptoms in the leg are due to some local problems. Few possibilities which I can think of are traumatic swelling (may not be noticed), dermatitis (allergic), vascular problems (reduced blood supply), insect bite, fungal infection etc.

You need to visit a surgeon and get yourself examined. If surgical side is clear, you need to get an opinion of dermatologist.
