What Causes Swelling And Sores On The Ankles Of An Elderly Person?
My mom who is 85 is prescribed Lisinopril12.5 mg (2 tablets), clonidine patch and Bystolic 10mg. She is having problems with severe ankle swelling and recently starting having sores appear on her ankles as well. Her doctor is not concerned but I am. Should we look for a new doc?

Very little lisinopril gets in. You could just go to a pharmacy or supermarket that has a bp machine and if the bp is over 150 top number or 90 lower number, realize that the bp isn't controlled.
This will affect leg swelling. And, about any organ dysfunction can cause ankle swelling.
Those BP meds are neither the best nor the worst for leg swelling. and evaluation of liver, lung, kidney, and heart need doing with ankle swelling.
