What Causes Swelling And Stiffness In Leg?

Yes I went to dr Tuesday and exrays didn t show any arthritis or trouble from dropping motorcycle on the leg 6 years ago. I was giving exercises and 800mg ibuprofen. My leg has started swelling more and getting stiffer. It s looking like the left side of the knee cap is bulging can you tell me what may be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
I appreciate your concern regarding the swelling and stiffness in the knee joint.
Apparently the swelling and stiffness in the left knee looks to be due to bleeding in to the joint resulting in collection of unabsorbed blood causing the present problem. Some times Ibuprofen can also cause bleeding into the joint cavity in presence of some underlying bleeding disorder.
Kindly see your doctor for proper assessment and management.
