Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swelling And Tingling In The Ankles During 36th Week Of Pregnancy?
Saturday we went to the lake and I ended up getting sunburned, Sunday night I noticed my ankles and feet looking a little puffy. Monday they hurt and were pretty swollen I couldn t really walk or stand without being in extreme pain. If I have them propped up they don t hurt as bad, but as soon as I go to get up I get this stinging/tingling feeling in them that hurts until I put them back up. I will be 36weeks pregnant tomorrow is this just from the sunburn I got Saturday or do you think it could be pregancy related.
It is common to have leg swelling at this stage in your pregnancy, so I would say it could be from just that, or the sunburn may also be causing some swelling.
I wouldn't be too concerned and try to keep your feet up as much as you can, and once you have delivered, this should significantly improve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
