What Causes Swelling Around A Cortisone Injection Site?
Hi. I had a cortisone injection in my ankle two weeks ago. I had pain at the injection site starting about a week after. Felt like the skin was raw. Today the skin is peeling off and it appears to be swollen. Not red and hot but looks like it is retaining fluid.
Your symptoms are caused by the injection and are very normal. I suggest you to take anti inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen 400 mg and use ice packs at the affected area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
