Welcome at HCM...
I am DR SAAD SULTAN and will be answering your query.
I have gone through your query and being your physician i totally understands your health concerns.
what is your age and sex? for how long you are suffering from it? do you have diabetes or hypertension? any other associated problem?
Swelling around the ankles is called pedal edema. It is never normal. There is need to look at your heart, liver and kidney. after then any reasoned conclusion can be drawn
If I am your attending physician I will get your FBC, ESR , LFTs, and RFTs.. In light of these tests cause for pedal edema can be identified.
Meanwhile stay calm and avoid salt intake.
Hope your query is adequately addressed , if you still have any feel free to ask anytime.
Regards
