General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms can be related to an inflammation of the mastoid.

Mastoiditis is a bacterial infection of the mastoid air cells surrounding the inner and middle ear.

I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen for the swelling. Antibiotics may be needed if the symptoms continue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
