What Causes Swelling Below The Ankle Bone?

Over the past few years my right ankle, below the ankle bone swells. It appears to be cyst like and doesn't hurt. Generally it's only slightly swollen but since I injured my back I've noticed it swelling more than usual. It does go down with rest. Any ideas?

Hello,
It sounds like you may have a bursitis. If it is painful you may need to see an orthopedist. if it is a bursitis they can inject some steroid medication to calm it down and decrease the pain.
Regards
