What Causes Swelling Below The Eye?

In the last 2hours, my right eye area below my eye has started swelling and the swelling is increasing and moving down alongside my nose. There is no pain, itchiness or excessive mucus. I have tried rinsing/flushing with water, but to no effect. This has never happened before, nor have I been around anyone with pink eye. I do not have any cold symptoms or fever, either.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The symptom without any injury could be due to any unknown allergen in the form of eatable or by contact with skin or some insect bite. It also could be a drug allergy if you have consumed any medicine. You can try an antihistamine tablet like pheniramine maleate or Cetirizine. If the condition doesn't improve then you must visit a physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
