What Causes Swelling Between Knuckles Caused After Injury?
Hi! I fell and took most of it on my right index finger. I ve been to casualty had an x Ray no broken bones but was given a full hand/wrist splint. The injury seems to be mostly between my knuckle and finger bone, still swollen and seems to want to veer off to the right on its own! If I tip the top of my finger off anything the pain in my knuckle makes me feel sick it s so bad. Should I go back for further advise?
Keep the finger as immobile as possible. The issue is not skeletal as an xray has ruled that out, but it could be with the tendons or the collateral ligaments holding your finger in place. So allow them to heal for a while, and if the shifting or leaning to one side continues then report to an orthopedic doctor.
Best wishes.
