Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 46 years old, I have been getting sick to often. A year ago I had pneumonia for about 3 months, a couple months ago bronchitis, now I noticed swelling between my neck and collarbone to my right side. Dr says xray of lungs is clear that it may be an infection and started me on antibiotics, now i feel my throat glands hurting and what feels like the oncoming of a sore throat. Im also feeling upper back pain and headaches. Should I worry....
Swelling between the neck and collar bone may likely be due to an enlarged lymph node, a lipoma, or a neurofibroma. Most likely it may be an enlarged lymph node due to the throat infection you are suffering from. I would suggest tab. Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid for 5 days. Please drink warm water. Warm salt water gargles are effective. Drink plenty of fluids.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
