What Causes Swelling Feet After An Injury?

I dropped my couch on my foot last night and it swelled up twice the size as my other foot. Today when I woke up I had big bruise on top of my foot and the swelling went down a little but when I put pressure on my foot a small white spot appears on my foot where it hurts . What does this mean ?

it means there is inflammatory reaction over the area of injury. if pain is unbearable then consult a doc and get a X-ray and take medicine and elevate that leg while sleeping.
