What Causes Swelling In Ankle And Knee Post Removal Of Blockage In Right Calf?
I had angiography to clear up stents in right thigh this past Friday. Doc found a blockage in right calf so he ballooned it. My leg from knee to ankle is swollen also painful to walk. I was given pain med in hospital for the calf pain but none for home was told take Tylenol. My question is, is the swelling normal?
Swelling of leg could be deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or varicose veins. I suggest you to consult a surgeon for clinical assessment and doppler ultrasound to know the status of veins in legs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri
