What Causes Swelling In Calf And Ankle After A Knee Injury?

I injured my right knee three weeks ago. xrays and mri shows no evidence of serious injury. MRI revealed a baker s cyst . I was told the injury was a bad bruise . Left side of the knee is still sore and it hurts to bend this knee to wash my foot, put on socks etc. When I woke up Saturday morning (fell asleep in a chair) my knee, calf, ankle, and foot were swollen. I thought it was a result of the way I slept but it still swollen. Its not painful or warm to the touch.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

As you explain the situation I think you should not be worried about. It is healing and it takes sometime. The fact that there is no pain is a good sign. Just wait some days.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
