What Causes Swelling In Feet And Hands With High BP During Pregnancy?

I m 33 weeks pregnant. I have severely swollen feet/ankles as well as hands. My blood pressure is usually in the normal range but the reading i got 15 minutes ago was 151/87. About a month ago I bled for almost four weeks straight and as a result my doctor put me on disability so I ve been home on bed rest. I see my doctor next week but I m begging to worry about all the swelling. Swelling even in my hands?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Your swelling is clearly because of the blood pressure. As and when the blood pressure comes down and is well controlled, the swelling in your hands and feet will also slowly subside.

Please be patient as you are not far from your due date, and will soon be able to deliver and your body will have a chance to return to normal. Please discuss pre-eclampsia with your doctor.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
