What Causes Swelling In Feet When Raised In A Diabetic Patient?
I am having dilated cardiomyopathy. Recently due to my rise in sugar level I was hospitalised and now it is corrected. But to my surprise I find that my both feet are having swelling and when I raise my feet and lie down for certain hours the swelling is subsidied. May I know the reason for it? My age is 58 height 5.6 weight 79 KG
Dear sir i can understand your concern. i am very sorry for your condition. This condition is called Dependent edema The swelling of feet might be due to decreased pumping capacity in heart or may be due to some antihypertensive medication used in cardiopathy. increased blood sugar will not give swelling of feet. Kindly discuss this issue with cardiologist he will adjust medications to correct this issue. Hope I was able to help you.
