What Causes Swelling In Foot And Leg With Recurring Burning Sensation In Ankle?

Hi, I m curious about a lower leg/ankle problem I m experiencing. Leg/foot swollen with a intermittent sharp/burning type pain on outside part of ankle area. My concern is that is may be a blood clot, but I just don t know enough about that to make a logical evaluation.

Hello,

It could be a sprain.

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can also apply ice packs for faster recovery.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
