What Causes Swelling In Joints And Headaches Upon Weaning Off Cipra?
I took Cipra a week ago and I did have diahhrea but now I find that after the dosage was over I ache all over, my joints are swollen, I have had headaches which I do not have normally, and my neck aches and pains and one of my shoulders is very painful. Would this be related to Cipro? I see my doctor next week for an update to Syntroid which I have been taking for some time?
I am guessing you are taling abiut ciprofloxacin, the antibiotic can cause symptoms of digeative irritation that can result in diarrhea. The diarrhea that can kast through the course of the antibiotic course results in fluid loss from the body along with electrolyte loss, that can result in aches and pains. I would recommend adequate rehydration along with either an ORS sachet or drink, or an energy drink (e.g. gatorade) that also has most of the electrolytes required by your body right now.
Best wishes.
