What Causes Swelling In Knee And Ankles Post Injury?

my son sprain his ancle and tourn ligaments 6 months ago and it has been kinda swelled every sence the other day he was playing basketball and he fell it was weak n he twisted his knee and ankle again both sides are swelled like baseballs still pretty swelled it happened on thursday he got x rays it said nothing was broken how long b4 he should put weight on it

It is the inflammatory process in the body which causes swelling in knee and ankles after injury. You can take some anti-inflammatory drugs like combiflam or ibugesic-plus to reduce the redness or swelling. Do hot water fomentation over same site. Take some antibiotics if any kind of infection is present.
