Hi, I had thrush acouple of days ago related with pessary on Wednesday have been fine since. But earlier this evening had a sudden on set on itching so I washed myself and put cannasten cream on.... Abput 30 mins later the left side of my labia had swelled up quite badly. What could this mean
Canesten cream contains Clotrimazole which is an anti-fungal drug. Clotrimazole can itself cause burning or itching sensation when applied on open or abraded skin.In case of swelling or burning sensation, you should stop applying the cream.Ice pack covered with a thick cloth can be applied on the swelling to reduce discomfort. Anti-fungal drug can be taken in the form of oral tablet.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
