What Causes Swelling In Legs, Feet, Ankle And Hands?

I am a 38 year old female. I drive truck for a living, and started doing this about 8 months. About 3 weeks ago I noticed that I began having pitting edema in bilateral feet, ankles, and legs. As well as swelling in my hands and arms. I do not have any other health issues. What could be causing this?

Hi...

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC...

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

Swollen hands, feet, ankles and legs are common and usually small amounts of swelling resolve spontaneously.
     If a person stands or sits still for long periods of time, there is a much higher chance of swelling.
     Hormone levels fluctuation during the menstrual cycle also cause fluid retention.
     Hormones such as estrogen (found in oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy)
     Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) painkillers.
     Medication side effects
     But feet and ankles that stay swollen or are accompanied by other symptoms could signal a serious health problem like (Heart, liver, or kidney disease.)
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health
Thanks & Regards,
