My husband has pulmonary hypertension. His legs and trunk of body are swollen every day. His pulmonary pressure is 60 according to his cardiologist after a catheterization 3 weeks ago, when he walks, he gets short of breath and has to stop. What can be done for him. He does take a diuretic and other medications for the hypertension. However, the swelling and shortness of breadth to not go away.
If he still has edemas, the dose of diuretics should be increased. He should restrict the amount of fluids and salt intake. Other medications or procedures depends greatly on the cause of his pulmonary hypertension. Discuss it with your doctor if there is any other procedure that can be done to relieve his condition.
