Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband was seen at an emergency clinic about 10 days ago for a right swollen lower cheek. was told he had an infection and was given amapicilian. Today his right foot, primarily around his big toe and right side of foot, top ad bottom have swollen up and is red and feels hot.
As per your complain swelling in lower cheek can occur due to a number of causes like infection or blockage in the duct of submandibular salivary gland while it can also be due to causes like Pericoronitis that is inflammation of the gum flap around wisdom tooth or dental abscess formation..
Swelling of the big toe can be due to causes like ingrown nail, bacterial infection, fungal infection etc, and is however not appearing to be related to cheek swelling...
You should consult a Podiatrist and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation can be done so that the exact cause can be ruled out and treated accordingly.. As of now you can soak your feet in epson salt solution.. You should do cool compresses over the feet.. You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Hope this helps ..
Regards..
