What Causes Swelling In Lower Eye Lid After Having Ibuprofen?
Hi Dr, - My 4 year old son wok up with a bad neck pain 2 days ago, it was so bad that we took hm to the ER. Dr. stated he might have a spasm. So they gave 150mg Ibupprofen. He was ok until today he was back in pain and took him another Dr. He als recommended the same medication and wait for couple days before taking a X-ray. After he took the medication few hours later his left below lid started to swollen up. Please advise if you have any idea what is causing this? Thank you. dad

It looks like the baby is allergic to Ibuprofen. But the swelling area isn't so common, not unusual though. Don't give him Ibuprofen again. Take him to his physician for proper evaluation and antiallergic/anti-inflammatory treatment if needed.mThe doctor will also change the medication for pain in neck.
May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way.
