What Causes Swelling In The Abdomen, Face And Hands While On Lisinopril?

I have had a problem with my hands, feet, abdomen and face swelling. I was on Lisinopril for my blood pressure and was taken off, they put me on hctz 25mg twice a day, the swelling gets worse. I have been in the hospital 5 times in the last 8 months, with severe abdominal pain and swelling (looks like I swallowed a watermelon), I have had 4 ct scans in last 8 months, all my labs are normal. I had a gallbladder ultrasound and it was normal. They said I have a fatty liver and fatty pancreas. I stopped taking hctz and swelling has gotten worse. What should I do?

Hello,

The medicines you have mentioned help to prevent serious problems related to kidney, heart and liver.

You said you have stopped hydrocortisone on your own which you should not do without your doctor’s advice.

I would suggest you to start taking it back and go to the ER or your doctor for the current symptoms you have.

There is a need for some diagnostic tests to be done like kidney function test, liver function test and other tests that your doctor will advise you to know the cause behind your symptoms.

You have fatty liver and fatty pancreas. So all together it is leading to the your current condition. Once the test results come it will be easy to treat you with necessary medicines appropriately.
