What Causes Swelling In The Ankles And Feet?

My uncle who is 74 and in very good shape has been experiencing swelling in his ankles and feet. Doctor has checked blood, heart and liver - and all tests have come back fine. Put him on water pills and that took some of the swelling down but not completely. Are there other tests we should ask about?

You can check for Renal function blood tests and an ultrasound of abdomen to rule out any problems in kidney.
I would also recommend checking the blood supply of lower limbs for screening vasular disease like varicose veins.
Hope this answers your question, Thank you.
