What Causes Swelling In The Ankles While On Benicar?
Have taken Benicar 40 mg for years, but started Olemesartin 40 mg week and half ago because Ins insisted less cost., Now I m experiencing slight swollen ankles & feet, which I did not have all the time I was taking Benicar. ? I was told Olemesartin is exactly the same as Benicar, but obviously it is not? Please advise .
Yes, both are same. Just a difference in company manufacturing those. Benicar is a brand name of Olmesartan. It doesn't have much effect on swelling of the feet. So, other causes should be considered. Although, you may switch back to Benicar if you are not comfortable using later and see the response. Swellings in the limbs are usually due to salt imbalance, but other causes like kidney function test and heart function with the echo should be done if not done recently.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sagar Makode,
