What Causes Swelling In The Elbow After Taking A Methamphetamine Shot?
I did a shot of Meth yesterday around noon when I did the shot I didn t feel any effects from the shot and my elbow area (where I did it) was a little sore and swollen didn t think much of it just went about my day and about three hours later I really became in a lot of pain. I had put Foundation make-up on my arm on my arm two keep it discreet so I don t know what color it is and it hurts to lower it my arm band I don t ever shoot and that spot so I know it s not from over usage and know for certain that I ve never done shot to where I do not feel the effects so what did I do and what should I do now
Methamphetamine injection can at times accidentally cause pricking and injected into the veins causing inflammation of the vein causing thrombophlebitis. It can cause pain, swelling and redness. So my suggestion is to take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil.
Do cool compresses over the arm multiple times a day. Also you can apply Heparin containing ointment/gel. If there is worsening of symptoms you should consult an emergency and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
Dentist
