What Causes Swelling In The Feet And Ankles While Suffering From Obesity?

I am a 52 yr old woman 5 10 and am morbidly obese. I am finishing up a move that was so time consuming. I have had swollen feet and ankles for 7 days now. When I come home from work I lay down and elevate them. The swelling went down over the weekend but tonight I get home from work and both feet and ankles are swollen again and appear to be bruised on the top fleshy part of my foot. I have been drinking more water these last few days and am taking it easy on salt. What else should I be doing?

There are many causes of obesity such as increased food consumption without increasing physical activity, high junk food, Cushing’s syndrome, and hypothyroidism.
Advice
1.     Keep your feet elevated while sleeping
2.     Apply Soframycin cream in feet every 8 hours
3.     Check your blood pressure
4.     Avoid eating high energy foods such as cakes, chocolates, chips etc.
5.     Avoid alcohol and smoking
6.     Increase consumption of high fiber diet such as wheat bread, dry date, and vegetables
7.     Drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
8.     Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
9.     Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal
10.     Divide your meals into smaller portions and eat them frequently during the day
11.     Avoid oily & spicy food
12.     Investigation
a.     Fasting lipid profile
b.     Serum TSH & T4
c.     Hemoglobin%
d.     Serum creatinine
e.     Blood sugar (F & PP)
