What Causes Swelling In The Fingers Post Injury?

I was in a car accident a week ago and the airbag deployed and apparently hit my hand and fingers. It was extremely swollen to begin with but no fracture. It is minimally swollen now with lots of bruising on the top of my hand and two fingers. It is difficult to grip or carry things. It throbs most of the time and also has little lightning bolt feelings in the fingers. What can I do to help?

Hello,

The bruise at finger area is due to trauma during accident. It will resolve with time automatically. You can apply ice compress over that bruise area. Take anti inflammatory drug like paracetamol for five days. There nothing to much worry if fracture is not there.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
