What Causes Swelling In The Groin Area?

I have a bulge on my right side, below my waist line where my pubic hair is, when I stand it hurts, I think I have an inguinal hernia. I am 50 in good shape, had one 20 years ago, on the same side, that I think was repaired with mesh, could that be possible?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Yes, of course this is possible, this can be recurrent hernia and this is not uncommon even when MESh is used. You should see surgeon again and repeat the procedure, there is no need to be concerned,it can be repaired with another MESH.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
