What Causes Swelling In The Hand Post Gallbladder Laparoscopic Surgery?
I had gallbladder laparoscopic surgery and a cyst operation around the rectum area removed at the same time. Today one week later my one hand is a little swollen on the top and vary sore, I can not straiten my fingers out - major pain. is this a concern?
Sounds to be related to possible thrombophlebitis at the intra cath insertion site during surgery and for postoperative IV dosages.
Primary relief with ice application and ointment containing thrombophobe, with the assistance of the surgeon for antibiotic and anti-inflammatory prescription to prevent secondary bacterial infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
