What Causes Swelling In The Kidneys?

I'm a 52 year old female who just had some test done (renal ultrasound) and was told swollen kidneys and a possible blockage (not sure if that ureath or kidney). My questions is what causes a kideny to swell. I recently (2 weeks ago) had a spinal injection and could that have something to do with the swelling?
