What Causes Swelling In The Left Foot?

I have swelling in my left foot; not a sports related injury. No pain, but I have a hard time getting my sneakers on. I have a daily driving commute of 1-1 1/2 hours one way. Healthy eater, exercise at least twice a week (spin class and weights). Medication: Hydrochlorothiazide 50/12.5,and estrogen patch every 3 days for hot flashes. Which specialist should I see?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Do you have Diabetes or Varicose veins?. These can cause swelling of the foot and sometimes of the legs. Does the swelling reduce in the morning and increase by evening? Neuropathy due to any cause can cause swelling of the foot. It would be good to get a 'Nerve conduction test', for diagnosis of Neuropathy. You can wear compression stockings , toes to knees in the morning wear it all day long and remove it at night this would prevent the swelling of the foot. However, it would be good to consult a Podiatrist for investigation and management.
