What Causes Swelling In The Left Hand?
My wife is 58 y.o. She has swelling in her left hand extending into and beyond her wrist. No insect bite marks visible. She had tenderness in left forearm which is easing, but swelling is constant. She did have a cancerous nodule removed from her left armpit area last year and had 25 sessions of radiation that ended last May.

The symptoms of your wife seem to be related to an infection.
I suggest the following examinations:
- a complete blood count
- an X-ray of the hand
- rheumatoid factor blood level.
