General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.

Noted your short history of ganglion cyst surgery on foot then developed swelling in left leg and knee.
The most probable cause I can think about are as follows:
If the problem of swelling has occurred within few days of surgery then it can be taken as edema spread from the surgical site to the upper area with or without infection.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation.
Consult your Surgeon immediately as this will allow the clinical evaluation and relevant tests if needed.
Further management as per the cause found.
Give rest to the left lower limb as this allows early recovery.
Elevation of the left lower limb above the heart level may help to reduce the edema.
Anti-inflammatory medications as would be suggested by your Doctor.
Antibiotics if infection is suspected or proved.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
