What Causes Swelling In The Leg With Knee And Feet Pain?

I have ben on arimidex now for a year and a half. I have had joint pain in my knees but it is getting worse. I am participating in a clinical trail . last year my left knee went out and it was very painful but my oncologist said it was not associated with arimidex. now I have the same pain in my right leg and it is worse than last year . I have pain in my feet when I stand and my right leg is really swollen. the pain goes up to my hip and lower back. please tell me if arimidex could be the problem. I had breast cancer but it was caught very early so I didn t have chemo or radiation.

Hi,

Arimidex is having Anastrozole. It is hormone preparation for breast cancer. It is a very safe drug for long-term use.

So I don't think your current symptoms are due to Arimidex.

In my opinion, you should get done repeat PET scan to rule out
1. Lymph node involvement as a cause for your lower limb edema
2. Bone metastases to long bones of legs as a cause for your pain.

So consult your oncologist and discuss all these.
