What Causes Swelling In The Legs After Eating Cashews?

My son had roasted cashews last night and within an hour the bottom of one foot swelled. He has had raw cashews and the have never bothered him. It is now almost 24 hours from the reaction and the swelling is going down. Is there any thing else than lots of fluids and careful watch?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Most likely that your son is allergic to the cashews. You can give tab Cetirizine half to one pill over the counter according to his age.

Please observe for any allergic skin rashes anywhere else along with wheezing or breathing difficulty. In case of such symptoms, he needs to be taken to ER for management of allergy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
