What Causes Swelling In The Legs After Taking Atenolol?

I m taking Atenol 25 mg. once daily. I have a-Fib. My right leg has swollen. I ve had e-rays. Doc states knees have old Arthur, slight in both. I have a large knot just be right knee, Medicine states this can cause this? Can I take a vitamin instead? if so, what? Thanks.

Hello ,I just read through your query and feel that from what you described that you donot have this problem due to Atenolol 25 mg. First of all that is a very small dose to cause this swelling and that too of the knee not likely.
yes you might be having arthalgia of the knee joint and you can take paractamol 500 mg thrice a day and apply diclofenac gel for local appliation at your knee joint if you are not allergic to it.
You can do warm compress of your joints to relieve pain.

You can take vitamin d tablets alongwith calcium supplements if you feel the need to take vitamins ,there is no harm in doing so.
