What Causes Swelling In The Legs And Ankles After Quitting Smoking?
My boyfriend quit smoking a little over a month ago and since then he has experienced tremendous body changes. He is now getting over shingles and has been experiencing swelling in his legs, ankles and lower groin area ? Question is this normal due to quiting smoking ? He is seeing a doctor tomorrow and will be a new patient. What tests or questions should he ask to be able to get the red answers ?
* The hives can be related to body response through the release of inflammatory mediators as interleukins and so forth.
* The swelling legs and ankles are not related to cessation of smoking, but it can be from the associated dietary changes, protein deficiency kidney issues or else.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
